The OIR Hosts the Interjurisdiction Forum for Leaders across Australia

Interjurisdiction Forum for Leaders across Australia

The Office of the Independent Regulator (OIR) recently hosted the bi-annual interjurisdictional forum in Hobart. Representatives from every Australian state and territory attended. The forum provided an opportunity to collaborate on best practice regulation in relation to the Child and Youth Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme.  The forum aims to create greater national consistency and harness shared goals across Australian regulators.

Linton Burgess and his son Cade provided an engaging Welcome to Country to open the event. Regulators shared presentations and insights on best practice and engaged with guest speakers from the eSafety Commissioner, ACECQA and Sport Integrity Australia, among others.

The OIR continues to work with oversight bodies across Australia to advance shared goals and best practice in child safe regulation to keep Tasmanian children safe.

The next interjurisdictional forum will be held in November 2026, which will be hosted by the Western Australian Ombudsman.
