Webinar – Parents and Carers – Recognise signs of a child and youth safe organisation

Date:  Wednesday, 18 March 2026

Time: 12:00-1:00pm

Parents and carers are invited to attend a one-hour webinar on Wednesday 18 March, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.

The OIR has created this session to support the important role parents and carers play in building child safe organisations.

The session will cover what parents and carers should know about the Child and Youth Safe Standards and the Universal Principle for Aboriginal Cultural Safety. The content will be relatable and practical, with participants able to submit questions or topics for discussion before the session.

What will this session include?

  • Practical tools to help participants:
  • recognise organisations that are continually working towards being child and youth safe
  • identify child and youth safety risks and prevent harm
  • act early and speak up
  • Insights drawn from current research
  • An opportunity to take part in conversations with other parents and carers

Who is this session for?

This session is for parents and carers who have children or young people enrolled in child and youth organisations across Tasmania.

If you’re unable to attend the live webinar, a recording will be available on the OIR website.
