Child and Youth Safe Action Plan webinar

The Office of the Independent Regulator will host an interactive webinar to guide participants through our Child and Youth Safe Action Plan resource, so they can come away with the beginnings of their own plan to strengthen their child-safe practices.

Date: Wednesday 30 July
Time: 10:00am-11:30am
How to register: Register via this link.

What will we cover?

  • This webinar is designed to support organisations to create their own Child and Youth Safe Standards Action Plan.
  • During this 90-minute session, we will provide a refresher on the Child and Youth Safe Standards and the Universal Principle for Aboriginal Cultural Safety. We will use real life examples of compliance work being undertaken by organisations across the state to illustrate how the standards are being embedded in a range of different contexts.
  • We will then introduce the OIR's newest resource - the Child and Youth Safe Action Plan Workbook. This workbook is designed to help you to reflect on your current child safety practices, identify your priority areas for improvement, and build a practical action plan for your organisation.

Who is this for?

  • This webinar is for both leaders and workers from organisations which are in scope of the Child and Youth Safe Organisations Framework.
  • Please note: if you attended one of the in-person seminars hosted by the OIR in Hobart, Burnie and Launceston in June, this webinar will deliver the same content. You are welcome to join as a refresher however, and we encourage you to pass the invitation along to your colleagues or others in the community who may benefit.

How do I prepare for this session?

  • To prepare for this webinar we recommend that you download a copy of the Child and Youth Safe Action Plan Workbook from our website. This workbook is best used as a hard copy that you can write in and colour-in (please have pens and red/orange/green highlighters or coloured pencils/markers on hand as well!). If you don't have access to a printer, please get in touch with us at contact@oir.tas.gov.au to arrange for a hard copy to be sent to you.
  • We also recommend that you take the time to review your organisation’s child safe policies and procedures before the session.
