    The Office of the Independent Regulator will host an interactive webinar to guide participants through our Child and Youth Safe Action Plan resource, so they can come away with the beginnings of their own plan to strengthen their child-safe practices.

    Webinar – Putting Child and Youth Safe Standard 2 into practice Thursday 18 September 2025

    During this one-hour practical webinar we will invite participants to take part in an interactive fictional case study activity and explore strategies for implementing Standard 2 in real-world contexts.

    What will this session include?

    • A detailed explanation of Child and Youth Safe Standard 2: Children and young people are informed about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously
    • A fictional case study designed to prompt thoughtful group discussion
    • Valuable insights drawn from current research
    • Access to newly released implementation guidance.

    This session is for both leaders and workers of Tasmanian organisations which provide services for children and young people.

    The OIR is running a series of in-person workshops across Tasmania on the Reportable Conduct Scheme in October. We are offering two types of workshops: Foundational Workshops and Advanced Workshops.

    Who are these workshops for?

    These workshops are for workers and leaders of organisations which are required to comply with the Reportable Conduct Scheme.

    How do I know which workshop to register for?

    The Foundational Workshop is for you if:

    • you are new to the Reportable Conduct Scheme
    • you would like a refresher on the foundations of the Reportable Conduct Scheme
    • you want to build confidence in identifying reportable conduct and understanding your obligations.

    The Advanced Workshop is for you if:

    • you understand the Reportable Conduct Scheme and the different reportable conduct types
    • you have been directly involved in managing or supporting reportable conduct investigations
    • you are seeking strategies to improve organisational systems and practices for handling reportable conduct matters.

    In-person Wynyard - Volunteer-involved organisations workshop 16 October 2025

    The Office of the Independent Regulator is hosting an in-person workshop on 16 October at 6:30PM-8:00PM at the Wynyard Yacht Club.

    This session is for any organisations which work with children and young people, and would like to learn more about their child safety obligations and develop some practical skills.

    Participants will receive tailored guidance on the Child and Youth Safe Framework, and gain access to practical tools, templates and real-time advice.
